JPDD

PROBATION/DISTRICT ATTORNEY DISPOSITION

FUNCTION: This transaction is used by the Probation Department to add or update Probation disposition data for an arrest or District Attorney reject dispositions for each charge. Since 1994, JPDD displays District Attorney disposition information pixed from PIMS. This transaction displays additional charges filed by the District Attorney as well as the charges entered by the arresting agency.

To display the JPDD mask from the JAI MENU:

1. Key the transaction code JPDD
2. Key the JAIN
3. Press the ENTER key

To display the JPDD mask from any other JAI screen, key JPDD in the lower right corner and press ENTER key. This is possible due to the fact the JPDD is not available through the use of a PF key.

The response will be the screen containing the most current arrest referred to the Probation Department. The operator is to match the arrest date, arrest agency, and arrest file number with the data on the paperwork. If the desired arrest date and agency are not displayed, press the PA1 key or Page Up key to page to older arrests. When the desired arrest is displayed key the following information:

The Referral Flag determines required data:

When a D is entered, the JAIC/IDC Rcvd Date, Sent date, and PRB DSP date will be system generated as `today's' date. These dates may be changed. The PRB DSP will be DA. The operator must also enter I or S.

When a 6 is entered, the JAIC/IDC Rcvd Date and the PRB DSP date will be system generated as `today's' date. These dates may be changed. The PRB DSP will be DA. The operator must also enter I or S.

When C is entered, the JAIC/IDC Rcvd and Sent dates and the AO Rcvd Date will be system generated as `today's date. These dates may be changed. The operator must also enter I or S.

When ND is entered, the JAIC/IDC Rcvd Date and the AO Rcvd date are system generated as `today's' date. These dates may be changed. The operator must also enter I or S.

If a required field is omitted, JPDD will be redisplayed with two highlighted asterisks (**) in the missing field. If incorrect data is entered, JPDD will be redisplayed with the incorrect field(s) highlighted. Key correct data and press the ENTER key.

An office change in JPDD will not change the office in JUPD.

The Probation Information may be deleted only by placing a minus sign (-) in the first position under Area Office. Deletion of data in JPDD will not affect active data. District Attorney DSP and date may be deleted by keying a minus sign (-) directly under the first position of the field to be deleted.

The PRB DSP of "CL" will close active data, and display in PINQ under Historical Case Information.

The PRB DSP "654" will change the Legal Status to "654" and the PROB/DCS to "CAD," for Community Agency Diversion. To limit the entry of a 654 PRB DSP to JPDD, place an "X" on the last line in front of "Probation Disp This Ref Only".

The PRB DSP "DA" causes data from JAI to be pixed to PIMS.

The Probation DSP and District Attorney DSP codes will appear in JINQ following the related arrest information. A District Attorney DSP is to be keyed for each charge in order to appear correctly in JINQ.

Upon successful completion of the transaction, a message will be returned to the JAIN mask indicating that the record has been updated, or has been looked at with no updates.
