JAKA

ADD/UPDATE ALIAS/MONIKERS

FUNCTION: This transaction is used to add, update or delete AKA's (alias names) and monikers (street names) to a record already on file.

The JAKA mask can be displayed by one of three options:

A. Through the JAI Menu.
B. Through the JAIN mask.
C. Through the JADD response mask.

The procedures for using the options are as follows:

A. Through the JAI MENU

1. Key the transaction code JAKA.
2. Key the JAIN.
3. Press the ENTER key

B. Through the JAIN mask

C. Through the JADD response mask.

1. Press the PF2 key.

Pressing a PF key replaces pressing the ENTER key when the screen offers PF key selections.

The first line contains the JAIN, name, sex, descent, date of birth, and page number. User must verify that the JAIN and name are correct before updating. Up to nine AKAs may be added on each screen. New names are added below the first blank line. Changes are made below information displayed on the screen.

Using the standard for entering Monikers will allow users to search them using the Name Search function using the Moniker as the Last Name and the work `Moniker' as the first name.

If the last or first name has been omitted when adding or updating a record, the record will not be changed and "Message Completed With No Updates" will appear on the JAIN mask.

To delete the middle name or the suffix of an AKA, key a minus sign (-) in the first position of the field. To delete the entire AKA, key the word DELETE below the last name. When multiple AKA cannot be deleted at one time, delete one name at a time.

Upon successful completion of the transaction, a message will be returned on the JAIN mask indicating the AKA data was successfully completed.

If more than one screen is needed to add AKA names, press the ENTER key to obtain a blank JAKA screen upon successful completion of the first JAKA; or, paging (PA1 Key or Page Up Key) should be used to request the next screen.

If the data to be changed is not present on the screen, page (PA1 key or Page Up Key) to the next screen. The operator will continue this process until the desired data is available for update. If changes are to be made to more than one JAKA screen, each screen must be changed and entered individually.
