JARA

ADD ARRESTS

FUNCTION: This transaction is used to add arrest information to a record already on file.

The JARA mask can be displayed by three options:

A. Through JAI MENU
B. Through the JAIN mask
C. Through the JADD response mask

The procedures for using the options are as follows:

A. Through the JAI MENU:

1. Key the transaction code JARA
2. Key the JAIN
3. Press the ENTER key

B. Through the JAIN mask:

C. Through the JADD response mask:

1. Press the PF1 key

Pressing a PF key replaces pressing the ENTER key when the screen offers PF key selections.

The first line contains the JAIN, name, sex, descent and date of birth. User must verify that the JAIN and name or correct before adding arrest charges. Up to 15 charges may be added on each screen.

To add an arrest charge, key the following information:

* These data elements are required on first line of arrest. Only the charge is required when keying additional charges from a single arrest.

If a required field is omitted, JARA will be redisplayed with two highlighted asterisks (**) in the missing fields. If incorrect data is entered, JARA will be redisplayed with the incorrect field (s) highlighted. Key correct data and press ENTER key.

Upon successful completion of the transaction, a message will be returned on the JAIN mask indicating that the arrest data has been added to the record.

If more than one screen is needed to add arrest information for the same JAIN, press the ENTER key to obtain a blank JARA screen upon successful completion of the first JARA.
