SEARCH BY NUMBER OTHER THAN FILE NUMBER
FUNCTION: This transaction is used to find the JAIN for a juvenile when you have one of the following numbers: a PDJ number, court number, booking number, LA number, or DCFS/DPSS number.
To display the JNUM mask from the JAI MENU:
1. Key the transaction code JNUM
2. Press the ENTER key
To display the JNUM mask from any other JAI inquiry screen, key JNUM in the lower right corner and press ENTER key.

To retrieve JAIN information on a juvenile by a number, key the following:

See JAI Arrest Agency code list. If code begins with CA019, key last four digits. Otherwise, key entire arrest agency code |
The user may select one of four options as the response to JNUM:
1. Press PF5 for JUPD
2. Press PF6 for JINQ
3. Press PF7 for PINQ
4. Press PF9 for CC09
If ENTER is pressed, the response will be JINQ.
If there is more than one JAIN associated with the number entered, an intermediate screen is displayed:

The first line contains the number type, number, and page number. The remainder of the screen lists the last name, first name, middle name, and JAIN of juveniles associated with the number entered. To retrieve data on a juvenile, key an "X" in front of the JAIN and press the appropriate PF key. A maximum of nine names will display on a page.
There may be multiple pages of the JNUM response. "Page" with the PA1 or Page Up key until the last message is END OF AVAILABLE INFORMATION. Additional `paging' instructions, including `back paging,' are at the end of Section 9.
